Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, on Saturday carried out an inspection tour of key infrastructure projects in Makurdi, the state capital. The governor was joined by the Honourable Minister of Works as they assessed the progress of several priority projects currently underway.
Among the sites visited were the High Level Underpass, the construction and dualization of Ishaya Bakut Road, and other projects at various stages of completion. According to Governor Alia, the interventions are part of his administration’s deliberate efforts to ease traffic congestion, enhance urban mobility, and boost socio-economic activities in Makurdi and its environs.
“These interventions represent deliberate efforts by our administration to enhance mobility, decongest traffic, improve connectivity, and stimulate socio-economic activities within the state capital and beyond,” the governor stated.
He further assured residents that all projects will be delivered in line with approved specifications, within schedule, and to the highest standards of quality.
Governor Alia emphasized that infrastructure remains the backbone of development, noting that his government will continue to invest in projects that have direct impact on the lives of the people while laying the foundation for sustainable growth across Benue State.
The inspection comes as part of ongoing efforts by the current administration to reposition Makurdi and other urban centers in the state for improved service delivery and modern development.
