It’s Day 10 of Emmiwuks’ bold journey from Nigeria to the United States on a bicycle, and the Nigerian adventurer has continued to capture hearts across West Africa as he edges closer to Ghana.
In a series of updates shared via social media today, Emmiwuks announced that he departed from Aného, Togo early in the morning, making his way through the capital city Lomé and heading towards Aflao, the bustling border town that leads into Ghana.
“Day 10 Project – NIG2USA ON BICYCLE. Leaving Aného this morning, heading through Lomé Togo and straight down to Aflao, the border town into Ghana,” he posted.
He also made a quick stop at Lycée Aneho Ville, a secondary school along the route, where he acknowledged the overwhelming support he has received along the way.
“A quick stop at Lycée Aneho Ville as I journey from Lomé to the Aflao border. Step by step, we’re moving closer to Ghana,” he shared.
Expressing deep gratitude to the Togolese people, Emmiwuks wrote in French:
“Merci beaucoup, Togo. Votre amour et votre accueil me touchent profondément. On continue ensemble.” (“Thank you very much, Togo. Your love and your welcome have deeply touched me. We continue together.”)
The journey, which began in Lagos, Nigeria, is more than a physical challenge — it’s a mission. Emmiwuks is riding to raise awareness and support for internally displaced persons (IDPs), orphans, and forgotten communities across Africa. His efforts have captured massive attention online, with his follower count skyrocketing and his name becoming a trending topic across Nigeria and beyond.
“The love on this road? Pure and loud,” he added. “Ghana, I’m coming.”
