The lawyer of popular figure VDM, Adeyanju Deji, has shared an update on his client’s detention by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
According to Deji’s Facebook post, VDM and a friend were arrested and taken into custody. Deji stated that VDM declined to meet with his legal team, while his friend was available for consultation.
The lawyer also alleged that VDM was held at a GTB exit door for over 5 minutes to facilitate the arrest.
“Our lawyers, led by the head of our firm @Marvin_Omorogbe, just met VDM’s friend, who was arrested together with him in EFCC custody.
“VDM refused to come out of the cell; he won’t see anyone. VDM was locked inside the GTB exit door for over 5 minutes to enable EFCC to arrest him and his friend.” Deji wrote on Facebook.
Deji went further to announced plans to take legal action against GTB over the treatment of his client, which he described as inhumane.
