Nigerian content creator and skit maker Sanku Olaniyi better known as Mrsankucomedy or Sanku Comedy has reportedly died in a car accident. The 25-year-old comedian lost his life in a car accident on Monday, September 1, 2025, along the Ibadan–Ogbomoso road.
Who Was Sanku?
Sanku was a comedian, content creator and skit maker. He began his comedy journey in 2021 and quickly rose to prominence in 2024 after a video of his went viral, getting thousands of views. With his unique style of acting, he gained his fan base on platforms like TikTok and Instagram.
Many of his skits was about real-life experiences of Nigerian youths, making him one of the most relatable voices in the comedy scene.
How Sanku Died
According to reports, Sanku was returning from a shoot in Ilorin with a friend when their vehicle was involved in a ghastly accident. He was rushed to the hospital but tragically passed away a few hours later. His friend is said to be in critical condition.
What makes his passing even more heartbreaking is that just hours before the crash, Sanku shared a video on social media with the haunting caption:
“When it is time for us to enjoy what we worked hard for, may we never lose our lives.”
Sanku’s Near-Miss Weeks Before His Death
In another twist, a resurfaced video shows that Sanku had narrowly escaped a car accident with the same vehicle just two weeks before the fatal crash. Fans now describe his death as “a tragedy that was written but could not be stopped.”
