A fresh controversy has erupted on social media after a 13-year-old girl, Anu Adeleke, claimed that Afrobeats superstar Davido is her biological father and is demanding a DNA test to confirm her identity.

According to Anu, her mother told her from a young age that Davido was her father. She revealed that she has faced years of bullying at school, starting from the age of six, because she could not clearly identify who her father was. Her mother also claims she met Davido in 2013, a period that aligns with Anu’s birth.
Davido responded, saying he has done five DNA tests.
The issue gained massive attention on X (formerly Twitter) after a user, @the_Beardedsina, tweeted: “A daughter asking the father for a DNA test will really break and touch the father’s heart.” Davido responded angrily, stating that he had already undergone five DNA tests, all of which reportedly came back negative. He insisted that Anu and her mother should leave him alone and “go find her real father.”
As the conversation intensified, another user, @the_lizzymatt, questioned whether Davido knew Anu’s mother. Davido replied harshly, saying he never met her except during the DNA testing process and accused her of irresponsible behavior. He added that he did not blame the child but claimed the mother should be held accountable.

Responding to a comment by @beri_grizou expressing shock over the claim of five DNA tests, Davido explained that three hospitals were chosen by him and two by Anu’s side, insisting that all results were negative. He concluded by saying it would be the last time he would address the issue publicly.
Davido also reacted to a tweet by @boluxxxx, who expressed belief in him and praised the Adeleke family for acknowledging their children. The singer responded by emphasizing that his father personally insisted on the DNA tests, stating that the Adeleke family takes blood relations very seriously.
Anu’s mother, Ayo Labinjoh, later released a statement.

However, Anu’s mother, Ayo Labinjoh, later released a lengthy statement disputing Davido’s claims. She denied being his “baby mama” or a prostitute, stating she was a waitress at the time she met him. She alleged that the initial DNA test conducted in 2014 was mishandled, claiming Anu’s blood sample was discarded and that a fake result was issued. She named a lab technician allegedly involved in the process and said her daughter is simply fighting for her identity.
Ayo further accused Davido of verbally abusing and threatening her daughter in private messages. She revealed plans to seek intervention from the US State Department to supervise an independent and transparent DNA test, noting that Davido is a US citizen. She stressed that her daughter is not seeking charity or adoption, but clarity and dignity.
As emotions continue to run high, the situation has sparked widespread debate online, with many calling for calm, sensitivity, and an independent investigation to protect the mental health of the child involved. For now, both sides remain firmly divided, and the truth behind the claims is yet to be officially established.
