
The Benue State Government has raised alarm over the mysterious disappearance of Mr. Terver Atu, the Personal Special Assistant to Governor Hyacinth Alia on Youth and Media Mobilization.

In a press statement signed by Hon. Tiza Isaac Orya Imojime, the Commissioner for Youths, Sports and Creativity, the government confirmed that Mr. Atu has not been seen for over 24 hours. The statement noted that security agencies and other relevant authorities have been duly notified and are already investigating the circumstances surrounding his disappearance.
“The attention of the public is hereby drawn to the mysterious disappearance of Mr. Terver Atu … Upon receiving this disturbing information, the security agencies and all relevant authorities were immediately notified. They have since commenced investigations and taken necessary steps to unravel the circumstances surrounding his disappearance,” the commissioner said.

He further appealed to members of the public to remain calm and law-abiding, assuring that the government and security operatives are on top of the situation. Updates will be provided as events unfold.

Alleged Abduction Reports
While the official statement described the development as a disappearance, several media outlets have reported that Mr. Atu may have been abducted by unknown persons. According to some accounts, his wife allegedly received a distress call in which he told her that he had been taken, after which his phone line became unreachable.

The incident has triggered widespread concern in Benue State and beyond, with many calling for his immediate release and for security agencies to intensify efforts to locate him. Mr. Atu, who is widely known for his work with youths and political mobilization, recently made headlines after dismissing one of his aides who participated in a protest against killings in the state.
