Big Brother Naija Season 7 winner, Ijeoma Josephina Otabor, popularly known as Phyna, has reportedly been hospitalized after collapsing at her residence.
The reality TV star was said to be responding to heavy criticism from fans of social media activist, VeryDarkMan (VDM), when the pressure took a toll on her health.
Sister’s Accident
This development comes at a difficult time for Phyna, who has been advocating for her younger sister, Ruth, following a tragic accident in Auchi, Edo State.
Ruth was hit by a Dangote truck earlier this month, just days after celebrating her graduation. The accident resulted in the amputation of one of her legs.
Following public outrage, the Dangote Group pledged to cover her medical expenses and provide support for her recovery. However, much of the responsibility of seeking justice and accountability has fallen on Phyna.

Phyna’s health scare also coincides with an ongoing rift between her and VDM. The activist had accused her of betrayal, a claim she strongly denies.
According to Phyna, she attempted to reach out to VDM privately but received no response, expressing disappointment that he chose to call her out publicly. The misunderstanding sparked online backlash against her, which may have contributed to her current condition.
Public Concern
Since reports of her hospitalization surfaced, fans and supporters have expressed concern over her wellbeing. Many have urged the public to show compassion, stressing that she is under immense pressure both privately and publicly.
“This is not good at all because Phyna is the only one fighting for her sister,” one supporter wrote. “She needs our prayers and strength right now.”
