Since the death of Nigerian singer Mohbad in September 2023, the quest for justice has taken multiple twists — and now, public interest appears to be fading.
Controversial activist and social commentator VeryDarkMan (VDM) has been one of the loudest voices demanding accountability. From calling out Naira Marley and Sam Larry, to now focusing on Zlatan, VDM says he’s on a personal mission to uncover what really happened to the late singer.
In his latest statement, VDM offered ₦10 million for full footage of a particular music video scene where Mohbad and Zlatan were sitting in a wheelchair, and Sam Larry allegedly walked in with some boys. He also offered another ₦2 million to any woman involved in holding the wheelchair if they would come forward as witnesses.
But while VDM continues to push for answers, many Nigerians online are beginning to express fatigue. On X (formerly Twitter), Facebook, and Instagram, users have voiced frustration over how the case keeps expanding with no solid progress.
“Even if Zlatan clears Sam Larry and says he didn’t touch Mohbad, people will still say he was paid,” one user wrote.
“This case is becoming tiring. No closure, no real update — just more dragging,” another person commented.
The biggest issue remains the same: What exactly led to Mohbad’s death? Months have passed, yet there has been no clear statement from authorities about the cause of death. There’s still no real answer. No justice. Just silence, endless speculation, and a lot of tired fans who are emotionally drained.
People are now beginning to wonder if all these online investigations are actually helping or just making things more complicated. Even VDM — who was once praised for standing up for Mohbad — is now facing criticism. Some feel he’s doing too much, others think it’s starting to look like clout-chasing.
Despite the noise, the sad truth remains: nothing will bring Mohbad back. And with every new name added to the conversation, the case only becomes messier.
Maybe it’s time for everyone — including VDM, fans, and even the media — to let the late singer rest.
